- Participants must accept the rules of the debate and the format as set forth by ABC News.
- ABC News requires that all participants receive at least 15% of the vote in four national polls conducted among registered voters or likely voters.
- The polls must be conducted by one or more of the following: ABC News/Siena College/NBC News; CNN/Fox News; The Wall Street Journal/The Washington Post and The New York Times/Siena College.
- The four polls that qualify must be conducted by separate organizations
- Only polls conducted and released within the window of August 1, 2024 and September 3, 2024 will qualify. Qualifying polls are only those that have been released and conducted in the specified time frame.
